There are some things in life that are a necessity. Taking a shower, brushing your teeth, and shaving are included amongst those must-do personal grooming and hygiene tasks. But who really likes to shave? Very often the result of shaving is dry, irritated skin…the complete opposite of what you try to attain by shaving.
Recently our reviewers had the opportunity to test out two of Pacific Shaving Company’s shaving products. Here is a little more about the company from the site:
Pacific Shaving Company manufactures shaving products that are good for the skin, good for the wallet and good for the earth. Our product line consists of All Natural Shaving Oil and our Nick Stick (our improved version of the ancient styptic pencil). The products are intended for men and women and make great holiday gifts/stocking stuffers.
All Natural Shaving Oil offers a consistently smooth shave, reduces nicks and razor burn, and leaves your skin conditioned and moisturized - all with the best natural ingredients available and no mess to clean up when finished!
Let’s face it - nicks are an inevitable consequence of shaving. Now you can stop the bleeding right away with this small but mighty Nick Stick. And with vitamins A & E and Aloe, it will help promote healing and soothe your skin, too.
Here is what reviewers had to say about both products:
All Because Two People Fell In Love: All Natural Shaving Oil™ offers a consistently smooth shave, reduces nicks and razor burn, and left my skin conditioned and moisturized!
Now you can stop the bleeding right away with this small but mighty Nick Stick. And with vitamins A & E and Aloe, it will help promote healing and soothe your skin, too. Nicks happen. Now you can do something about it.
An Island Review: I used the All Natural Shaving Oil and was very impressed with the way it worked. There were no nicks, no foam to wash away. The only thing left was smooth skin! My legs felts soft and silky.
Blessings Abound: It glides on smooth and clear allowing you to see and have full control of your shave, dramatically reducing the occurrence of nicks and cuts. Only 6-8 drops of this oil is adequate enough to provide a full shave, depending on the what area of your body you are shaving, and has a light citrus scent that dissipates as it dries.
Brain Foggles: After shaving my normally dry skin felt soft which is very unusual. I normally have flaky skin and have to use moisturizers daily. Not after using this shaving oil.
Chocolate Fingerprints: I was easily able to shave each leg with only five drops of oil, and my skin was left feeling a lot less dry than it is after using shaving cream.
Dinkers and Giggles: WOW. Those few drops really did work. My leg was smooth with just one pass of the razor. The other thing is there wasn’t a ton of shaving cream clogging up the blades of the razor- woohoo!
The Dirty Shirt: The oils used will leave your skin feeling conditioned and moisturized without a trace of an oily or greasy residue. And the slight citrus scent is refreshing.
With the Nick Stick you can stop the bleeding right away. And with it containing vitamins A & E and Aloe it will help sooth and heal your skin. It dries clear with no residue and has a self-sterilizing roll on applicator.
The Glamorous WAHM: Six to eight drops on wet skin and you have one of the smoothest shaves you’ve ever experienced. My legs loved it!
I was also sent the Nick Stick which, stops bleeding quickly, dries clear, and rolls on with a self-sterilizing applicator. This has acutually been a great product for my husband as he is always “nicking” himself while shaving. Now he doesn’t have to go into work with toilet paper on his neck!
Homeschooling and Loving It: This product prides itself in being all natural. My legs feel very smooth after using it and I didn’t once cut myself.
Lisa Reviews: here is a couple things I noticed after using this to shave my legs. First, it didn’t make me break out into hives. Second, I didn’t need to moisturize my legs after shaving. I also think it gave me a closer shave.
Loving Heart Mommy: He has very sensitive skin and with using the all natural shaving oil had no problems with irritation or breaking out. He was satisfied with the smoothness of his skin as was I because a scruffy face isn’t cool in my book.
The Nick Stick is true to its description, it does stop the bleeding quickly and it also contains vitamins A & E, plus the extra Aloe is very soothing. I used the roll on applicator and instantly no more boo boos for Mommy!
Mom of 2 Dancers: Just 6 - 8 drops is all you need to have a smooth shave. I loved using this product and was impressed that you honestly needed so little.
My Sentiment ExactLee: The best part was the close shave my husband received from the All Natural Shaving Oil. He has sensitive skin plus a lot of course hair so shaving is usually a nightmare. This product did not irriate him the way a shave with shaving cream usually does.
Our Seven Qtpies: Just 7-10 drops of oil covers my entire leg and made shaving without soap easy. No nicks, cuts or dry skin. I wasn’t blown away by an exotic scent, however, I was impressed with how far it went. My legs were smooth and soft but not at all oily. Just a few drops really did cover a lot.
Pajama Mom: Shave as normal, rinsing your razor. Your reward: no clogged pores, no razor burn! Easy to use and a great fresh scent that left my legs silkier and smoother than ever!
I cut myself around the knee once and quickly pulled out the Nick Stick. It stings but you know that’s good, shortly after the bleeding stops! what a relief, no more tissue paper and blood droplets on clothes!
The Power of Housewife Word of Mouth: I love this oil, because just a few drops will take care of each leg, I haven’t yet been able to convince my husband to switch over, so he doesn’t realize what he is missing out on, but that is fine by me, because then I don’t have to share!
This [the Nick Stick] is really so handy to have around the house not only for my new household shaver, but for any small little scrape you might have. It completely stops the bleeding quickly, and is a self sterilizing roll-on. It has immediately become Rebecca’s new shaving best friend.
Red Sox Mommy: With shaving oil from Pacific Shaving Company you can get a smooth shave every time that rarely leaves you with nicks and cuts. This works great for men and their daily face shaving and for women and their leg shaving.
He got a nasty nick on his chin and had trouble getting the bleeding to stop. If he’d had Nick Stick he could have stopped the bleeding quickly and easily and without any residue.
Robyn’s Online World: The actual shaving felt much smoother against his skin. Once finished his skin was noticeable smoother to the touch and he felt it was a much better, closer shave than what he normally gets when he just uses soap and water to shave with.
Anyway, he did cut himself once in the past couple of days while shaving and whipped out the Nick Stick to stop the blood. It did sting a bit, but went away soon enough and the bleeding stopped right away.
Rockin’ Mama: I was able to attain a smooth shave without the usual irritation. The oil has a faint citrus smell and left my skin feeling super soft and moisturized (don’t worry, it isn’t greasy).
I used the Nick Stick on my legs and just like they promise, the bleeding stopped rather quickly. It tingles when applied, but that is the result of the antiseptic Benzocaine.
Sage and Savvy: At first I was a bit wary because after massaging the oil on my legs, there was only a thin layer of oil on my skin—so thin that I thought it wasn’t enough to protect it from razor burn. But I was wrong—my razor glided smoothly over my legs—no razor burn, no nicks. The oil is great because it’s clear so you can see where and what you’re shaving.
She Scribes: The razor smoothly went across my leg with no problems at all. After I shaved an area of my leg I rinsed it off with some warm water and then felt my leg. It felt great! It removed the hair with no problem and my skin felt really nice and smooth. It did not feel oily or slimy. Instead if felt very soft.
Sheltered Not Shattered: The oil really did give me a smoother shave and I had no nick’s. It only took about 7 drops per leg and I was done. The best thing to me was that with the oil my razor didn’t clog up.
I haven’t used the Nick Stick but I will take his word for it. It did do what it said it would though, it stopped the bleeding with no need for a pinch of toilet paper on the face.
Tara’s View of the World: Initially I just didn’t quite “get it”… how was I supposed to shave with oil? And how long would that teensy tiny bottle last? As it turns out it didn’t take very much oil at all to do my legs and it was super easy to use.
Thoughts From the Mrs.: I was so curious to try something that claims a little goes a long way and it moisturizes at the same time. Well, I was very, VERY pleased with this product. The oil spread easily and I didn’t need to apply more than the box suggested for the job. At the finish, I didn’t need to apply any moisturizer to my legs. My skin was smooth and soft.
The Way I See It: I have extremely dry skin and have to apply some type of moisturizer everyday. I was thrilled with the soft moisturized feeling my skin received. I was able to forgo applying any lotion because my skin was already hydrated from the Shaving Oil.
Shaving and Nicks seem to go together. At least with me they do. Nick Stick is the solution to these inevitable mishaps.
Wish List Worthy: The shaving oil has a light citrus scent, and made shaving a much nicer, smoother experience. The shaving oil is totally natural, and it left my legs feeling soft and smooth. Another bonus, it was a lot easier to see where I had already shaved.
I encourage you to drop by the Pacific Shaving Company for more information including retailers who carry the products.

We all know how important protection from the sun is especially on children. However, just trying to get everyone ready and out the door on time can sometimes be an adventure in itself. Never mind remembering the sunscreen. That’s why we were really interested in trying out
