Grandma D’s Wreaths Direct

December 10, 2008

One our my favorite things about Christmas is all the wonderful smells around the house. That’s why FRN was thrilled to participate in the Evergreen Wreath Tour sponsored by Grandma D’s Tree and Wreath Farm/Wreaths Direct.

From the site: “As fifth generation family owners, we take pride in our products and services. We supervise the production of our products from seed to the final array of beauty that arrives at your door. Whether you are interested in a single product or several hundred, we offer the freshest and finest greenery in our industry.”

Some very lucky FRN members had the opportunity to experience Grandma D’s Wreath first-hand. Here’s what they had to say:

All Because Two People Fell in Love: Oh my word, just stunning!! Before the box was even opened we could smell the evergreen freshness! The wreath looks and smells terrific! So terrific in fact we decided to keep it inside so that we could enjoy the great outdoors smell! This wreath is beautifully hand crafted with several types of evergreen twigs and branches!

A Mama’s Rant: The beautiful 24 Inch Red Wreath showed up a week ago. The evergreen bough is thick and the berries, cones and bow are attractive. It looks great on the front door of our home and will surely last the entire holiday season.

A Wrestling Addicted Mommy: The wreath itself is just gorgeous! Also it’s pretty large, I didn’t expect it to be so full and alive with life. The wreath is so big, that it almost pushes out my storm door when it’s hanging on my interior door facing the outside, but I love it none the less. Being shipped in a box, fresh from the farm, I was a little worried at first about it falling apart and whatnot, but to my surprise only a few needles shed and it didn’t even make a difference on the wreath that’s how little they were.

Brain Foggles: Opening the box was like being surrounded by Pine Trees. Actually I could smell the pine scent even before I opened the box. And when I saw this gorgeous wreath it was all I could do to break out the Christmas storage boxes to get my wreath holder.

From Melissa’s Desk: This beautiful, fresh evergreen wreath from Wreaths Direct was the perfect addition to our Christmas decor and it smells absolutely divine!

Life is Like Champagne: The wreaths look and smell fresh, lasting well into the holiday time. I love the use of various mixed greens, pine cones and the ribbon for the added touch. This is not just a new company that popped up overnight with a farm stand on the road, this is fifth generation family farm who supervise from the planting of the seeds to the final product you purchase.

Lisa Reviews: The first thing you will notice when you take the wreath out of the box is the wonderful smell.  You are getting a very fresh wreath.  The other thing I noticed that the wreath was super soft.  Most wreathes we’ve gotten have prickly.  Nothing is worse than getting a wreath and you need to get your gardening gloves out just to get it out of the box!

Mamalicious Finds: When I received my wreath it was in perfect condition! I didn’t have to “fluff” it or anything, I just went straight outside and hung it up! I also thought it was amazing, there was no little bits that had fallen off inside the box!

Maria’s Space: The wreath is beautiful and I want to look at it. I might take down some photos and hang it above the fireplace. As the air in the living room gets warm from the fire the scent from the wreath will permeate the house. It is like having a little Christmas tree nice and early.

Mommy Blog Reviews: Not only is it lovely and big, it’s sturdy too. Even though it was shipped in a cardboard box without any packing material (I don’t think bubble wrap goes well with pokey evergreen boughs) only one itty-bitty piece dislodged and hung out all alone at the bottom of the box. When I say small piece, I mean a half inch wide by two inches long. Small. Certainly not noticable since the wreath is so full it looks amazing.

Pink Family Reviews: I was very excited when my wreath arrived. It was sent via UPS and I arrived in mint condition. I could smell the wonderful evergreen smell. My husband even joked that we should leave it in the house to enjoy the smell. We hung it outside immediately and the girls loved it. I think that it came at just the right time to put me in the holiday spirit.

Reviews from my Laptop: When I received my wreath by mail, I was amazed at it’s quality. It was shipped in a pretty sturdy box and when I pulled it out, not only did it look beautiful and fresh, but the smell was also amazing. I knew it was grown and created with pride.

Sheltered Not Shattered: It is beginning to smell a lot like Christmas. At least that’s how we felt when we opened our new wreath from Wreath’s Direct. My wreath is made up of sprigs from several different evergreens and it smells HEAVENLY! I wish computers could be scratch-n-sniff.

The Way I See It: The wreath is very well made with fresh cedar, juniper berries and pine cones topped with a lovely red velvet bow. The wreath provides our home with what our artificial tree can’t, the scent of pine and the aroma of the Christmas season.

Thoughts from the Mrs: When the wreath arrived in my home, I couldn’t wait to crack the box open. I instantly took it out and hung it on my door with pride. The wreath is gorgeous and smells great.

What’s That Smell?: I examined the quality of the back part of the wreath while it was hanging and the frame of the wreath is made out of a very heavy gauge wire made into a circle, and the same heavy wire is used to attach the branches to it. The pinecones and the bow appear to be held on securely with a thinner wire. I tugged and pulled and they are very secure. We have a storm door on our front door and the wreath does get a little squished when we close and latch both doors, but it hasn’t affected it and it still looks fantastic!

Wish List Worthy: We found the wreath to be very wish list worthy, and a great idea for gift giving as well as decoration! In fact, I already know of a few people who would love to have the fresh scent and gorgeous look of a fresh wreath in their home.

Candles by Victoria ~ Giveaway

November 14, 2008
Congratulations to Michelle from Ohio!
She’s the winner of the Candle by Victoria.
When I had the opportunity to try Candles by Victoria I was excited but a bit hesitant. I’m quite sensitive to scents and can get a headache just walking past the candle or potpourri shops in the mall. Not so with Candles by Victoria. I received a “Spiced Apple Pie” candle in Victoria’s country style jar. The jar has a wide mouth to allow a full scent release and I’m telling you, this candle smells so good! The Spiced Apple Pie scent adds a warm and inviting atmosphere to my whole house!
I absolutely love it!
Candles By Victoria uses 100% pure fragrance oils and they distribute the scent throughout the candle. The selection they offer is endless from the style of jar to the style of candle. There are 550 scents to choose from and a “100% Satisfaction Guarantee“.  Candles by Victoria are hand-mixed, hand-poured, hand-wicked, and triple-scented. Victoria’s candles make the perfect gift for anyone on your gift list regardless of age or gender.

This is what our members say:

Rockin’ Mama: We received the Caramel Hazelnut Cream candle to review and all I can say is that it makes my house smell like somebody is baking something yummy!  I have already burned it for hours and it has barely melted.

Forgetfulone: The creamy wax burns evenly. There is very little wax build-up on the jar. That means you really get your money’s worth since you won’t have “left-overs” on the jar. The wax is completely consumed. I have burned this candle for hours and hours, so it’s one that it going to last a long time.

Kristen McLane: The first feature I noticed about my candle (and in my opinion what sets it apart from other candles) was it’s powerful scent. The explanation for this is that each candle from Candles By Victoria is triple scented using 100% pure fragrance oils. I left the lid off of my candle jar overnight and the fragrance had permeated throughout my entire house by the next morning without even lighting the candle!

The Way I See It: The candle I received in the mail was packed securely with no chance of damage. That’s always nice because I loathe returning items by mail. The candle not only smelled incredible while burning but the scent also filled the house with just the lid off the jar.

Victoria is generously offering a wonderful discount to our readers. Just use the code FRN in the discount voucher box during the checkout process and receive 10% off your entire order.

Naks make bags come alive in a fun, creative style. The PakNak family of products includes over 20 original designs with plans to expand to seasonal and custom works. The PakNak website hosts products, fun activities for kids and future products targeted at older kids and adults.

PakNaks attaches to surfaces using a piece of adhesive with velcro on the other side. All your child needs to do is stick on the various designs depending on their mood for the day. They can decorate books, bags, lunchboxes, folders, room decor, presents, headbands, bike helmets, and anything else they’d like personalized.

PakNaks are sold for $3.99 each and comes in a variety of designs and characters. Stop by and check it out!

Rockin’ Mama: My favorite way to use PakNak charms are on gift bags and cards.  I absolutely love wrapping gifts and I think this is a unique and fun way to decorate a gift.

The Clan McLeod: We knew we had to have Grant the Soccer Ball charm for Pink Panther to put on her soccer backpack. Now, her whole team wants one!

Sage and Savvy: DS loved the Earth Nak - he kept pointing to it and asking “wha-dat?” The funny thing—he loves the sound of Velcro so he kept taking the Nak off and putting it back on again, but despite how many times he did that, the Nak stayed in place firmly whenever we used the tote!

Val’s Views: They look exactly like they do on the website. The charms were easy to apply and change. What an affordable and fun way to personalize your stuff!

Lisa Reviews: It took me less than 5 minutes to attach, and I can easily switch the places of the charms.  Now, Madison’s backpack is pretty busy.  Can you imagine the difference these would make on a single colored cooler or backpack?  All I know is that the PakMak charms made my 4 year old a very happy little girl!

A Mom Speaks: The charms were extrememly easy to attach to their backpacks.  All you do is open the package, peel the backing off, stick it to the backpack, and them style the charm the way you want it to look.  My kids loved the charms on their backpacks and my son was showing everyone at school his soccer ball.  The Pak Nak Charms were a big hit!

Ohana Mama: Now that my son is in preschool he’s got his backpack to carry an extra set of clothes and his blanket for nap time.  The backpack is a cute surf backpack, which I thought was cool and so did my little one.  But now it’s even cooler because on his surf backpack he can add the Sk8r PakNak Charm!

The Glamorous WAHM: My three year old son was very excited to decorate with his football PakNak. These gems are self-adhesive, flexible, and weatherproof, making them no hassle for mom or dad!

Free Birthday Treats Blog: According to my son, he is going to start collecting these. I think it’s a great accessory to add to a birthday package or stuff in a stocking. The kids will love adding their own kind of “bling” to their stuff.

Mom of 2 Dancers: When I first came across the website, I thought they were sticky back. They are so much better though. I also didn’t realize that you can interchange them. Knowing my kids, they wouldn’t want to lose the cute little design. With it being velcro though, they won’t! How cool is that, my girls loved them.

An Island Review: PakNak could not be easier to use - just open, peel, stick, & style. It’s so easy that my daughter was able to use them to decorate her items herself. It made her feel like such a big girl. What I really liked about PakNak is the many cute and colorful choices. Each one also comes with a trading card that tells you all about each individual design. It really helps to bring each one to life.

From now until November 1st, save 10% off your entire purchase! Just use the code PAK10 at checkout.
